I started working in the service industry when I was 13. Every summer I was out on job sites for my family's HVAC company in South Florida — a Carrier Factory Authorized Dealer with trucks on the road every day. While other kids were at the beach, I was learning what it actually takes to keep a service business running.
I worked for over four service companies through my late teens and early twenties. HVAC, plumbing, electrical. Same story everywhere — good operators losing money they didn't even know they were losing. The trades run on systems that haven't changed in decades. Handwritten invoices became PDFs. Filing cabinets became folders on a desktop. But the actual workflow? Still duct-taped together.
Then I moved into the software world. Spent years in enterprise sales across med tech, ecommerce, logistics, and SaaS. I watched businesses in every other industry transform once they had real-time visibility into their numbers. Dashboards, automation, AI — tools that were standard everywhere else.
